Located at 1528 Walnut St #1704, Philadelphia, PA 19102, Smiles on Walnut operates as a dentist serving Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (215) 546-0707. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is smilesonwalnut.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 216 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded dentists in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I had severe jaw pain for years that no other doctor or dentist could solve. They diagnosed it on my first visit and, after invisalign, I am now pain free. I've been coming back ever since becuase they are also a great dentist in general!

Iβve been a patient of Dr. Turchin's for over 20 years, his staff, Linda, Rhoda, Erica, and Kim were amazing. The level of patient care and respect was unmatched. Sadly, after Dr. Turchinβs retirement, the level of care with the new dentists are no where near acceptable. With Kimβs retirement, that only leaves Linda, Erica, and Rhoda, and while I would love to be able to continue with the Smiles on Walnut Staff, I simply cannot. I went for my routine cleaning, no pre-rinse, no flossing (Rhoda was on a well deserved vacation). I recently went back to address preparation for root canal and cavity. The dentist implied that I eat fried chicken, instructing me not to chew on anything like nuts or chicken as not to break the toothβ¦in the rear. He also told me that βheβ didnβt think I needed a root canal, this after Dr. Turchin had told me prior to his retirement that a root canal was the next step. And also after listening to this dentist casually tell his assist how he βmight get into do them, but also stating how he really didnβt like them, and had done them βin schoolβ. He then took the time to hand write a note, that he also felt the need to come back a read that I should carry up

The staff is amazing here! Jen took care of me, she was so sweet and thorough. And as well as Dr. Roshan. Miss Dr. Robert Turchin. I hope he enjoys retirement! π

I had my first appointment with the Smiles on Walnut team and was very impressed. The team was thorough, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly. I felt well cared for throughout the visit and appreciated their attention to detail. Iβm looking forward to continuing my dental care with them and would definitely recommend them to others.
